I liked meat computer before I even heard any of his music. The name alone was enough for me to call myself a fan. As you might suspect, meat computer is a hyperpop artist, but if it’s possible that there’s something else beyond hyperpop, something even weirder, meat computer is it.
Yesterday, meat computer released his latest track, “running away from myself.” He mumbles, whispers, and whimpers over a distorted trap beat. Luckily, the insane visual comes with subtitles – the lyrics would be nearly unintelligible without them.
Speaking of the visual – yes, it’s insane. meat computer flails around what appears to be an NYC penthouse, clutching a wine glass filled with what looks like a matcha smoothie. I scoured his instagram for any sign of his influences, and I found several mentions of Lil Peep. If he were around today to see this, he sure would be proud. Do not miss this one.
