Guapdad 4000 does his thing on 1176; elegantly floating over !llmind’s production. This a collaboration that I didn’t know I needed, but I am utterly satisfied that I got. Guapdad gives us his charismatic lines with his laid-back delivery but is not afraid to show the vocals off every once in a while. Like on the record, “10infinty”, which is one of the more heartfelt cuts, focused on the obstacles that Guapdad had to overcome. This is one of the high points for me on the project.
That being said, this record is sprinkled with bangers. “Big Shot” is the melodic slap that I could hear blasting at any function. This is “WE OUTSIDE” type of music! Another personal favorite for me is “Muhammed” because Guapdad really channels the Bay Area on this record and brings us home with him. The grimy production and gravelly delivery are fantastic. This is a project you want to check out, and you won’t be disappointed.
