Rari Kari is one of the most exciting and refreshingly different artists I have stumbled across in a long time. Sitting at only 614 monthly listeners on Spotify and 419 followers on SoundCloud at the time of this writing, this ambient dreamcore phenom is definitely a diamond in the rough that will have you hooked from the very first listen.

Kari is a 21-year-old Nashville native who dropped her first song “END” back in July of 2021. With that song being her only offering for the entirety of 2021, Kari teamed up with her boyfriend and super-producer Baaaly earlier this year and the duo has been bringing the heat ever since. After dropping a couple of singles together back in April in preparation for Kari‘s debut EP, NOCLIP, Kari‘s ear-catching ethereal single “END” officially caught the attention of Trippie Redd who posted a video of him listening to it on his story a few weeks back. Since then, Kari and Baaaly have taken their dark, dreamy sound to extreme heights dropping off their distinct new EP NOCLIP which is unlike anything I have ever heard.

The tape starts off with the transcendental track “ISSEY” and sets the tone for the entire project. With slow, ambient production from BaaalyKari perfectly tackles the track with a calm and effortless flow that is insanely catchy and perfectly settles into the instrumental. This approach holds true throughout the entire project. Her ability to glide melodically over Baaaly‘s production with unfazed coolness while switching up flows seamlessly makes every single song such an easy listen that you can’t help but throw on repeat. To be completely honest, these two went 6-for-6 on this one– no skips whatsoever. I am genuinely surprised at how few people know about this duo, but if there is anything we know about Trippie and his underground co-signs it’s that he is always way ahead of the curve for what’s going to be hot, and Kari is certainly one that you’ll know undoubtedly fits the bill as soon as you press play.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to NOCLIP yet, I seriously urge you to take ~15 minutes to listen all the way through. It is rare that someone like this pops up in the current state of the underground, so I am certain that as more people catch onto Kari she will quickly become a household name and staple in the scene in no time. Listen to NOCLIP by Rari Kari below.
