Endearing introspection is the lyrical motif for Quelle Chris’ audible offering today. “Loop Dreams” is the second single behind “Super Fuck” to make it off his upcoming project dropping later this month. Quelle raps a slight juxtaposition to the aforementioned track, deviating from a Kush and cunnilingus revolving subject matter, and instead vocalizing the rap artist realities as he sees them. Convert stress, label politics, the less enticing symptoms of vices, and longing for an alternate path that he envisions in his dreams are articulated over Chris Keys’ rolling piano and high hat instrumental. The relatable quote in verse one, “feelin’ like I work from the bottom to the bottom here, and I done seen the bottom of too many bottle here” stands as a pillar next to the equally real verse two bit, “I done see niggas rise like the hot air, and all I got to show for it is standing right here, same jeans, free tees, and some Nike airs.” We all knew he was lyrical, but this opposite end of the spectrum narrative cut brings out the revealing human side of Quelle that I hope to hear more about. His third album Ghost At The Finish Line drops October 29th on Mello Music Group, just in time for Halloween shenanigans that the title might invoke like a throw back R.L. Stein soft cover. Add in the expected features from Alchemist, Black Milk, Guilty Simpson and House shoes, and this is hands down the project to be most excited for while moving into the November month.
