Mac Miller‘s latest album, Circles, was released originally on January 17, 2020. Today, we’ve been blessed with the deluxe version- featuring two new songs, “Floating” and “Right.”
Normally, posthumous releases are a bit challenging to digest. As a fan, you’re burdened with the question of if the artist would’ve wanted the music to be dropped. In Mac Miller‘s case, the work that’s been released after his death has been a musical personification of him. As his career went on and on, it was undeniable that he was improving in his ability. The complexity and the degree of expression in his music grew as he grew. It’s amazing that this trend hasn’t come to a halt after he tragically passed. These new releases are cutting edge, and are something that sounds like Mac would be proud to share. Many fans are still getting used to Mac Miller not being here- especially since he was taken from the world so abruptly. With the loss of one of our favorite artists still fresh in our minds, let’s come together and celebrate his creation. Go stream “Floating” and “Right” in the links below.
Also, shoutout to the producers who were involved in these two tracks, Vic Wainstein, Alexander Spi, and Jon Brion.
