Toronto has become a city that’s churned out a variety of seemingly overnight stars. The newest and debatably most formidable being KILLY. The young 20-year-old artist has risen to fame after his hit single “Killamanjaro” made huge waves on SoundCloud, and then even more so on YouTube when the video released. KILLY‘s style can be compared to that of Travis Scott and early A$AP Rocky, as he masterfully delivers his raps in such a high energy capacity that it’s almost impossible not to become hooked on the sound. KILLY‘s strategically rolled out his content over the last year following the explosion of “Killamanjaro” and kept up a finely tuned aesthetic which is one of the biggest factors that will push him to stardom in 2018. All of his visuals are extremely crisp and well edited, showcasing his innate style which matches his music perfectly.
Not wasting any time, KILLY paired with rising smash producer 16yrold for what was one of the most highly anticipated tracks in the underground, “No Romance,” which reached 1 million plays on SoundCloud almost overnight. The visual for “No Romance” is currently at 5 million. Killy clocks over 500,000 plays on Spotify monthly and has yet to drop a track with a big feature but has appeared on tracks with Nessly and other budding Toronto artists. His music is perfect for any late night function and the way in which he releases it is calculated. He’s also covered by all the blogs.
