A week ago we got word that the eccentrically dope Stones Throw label producer Dam-Funk would be teaming up with the iconic Snoop Dogg for a self-titled project 7 Days of Funk. Details were scarce, but it has now come to light that they are as such: it will be the first single producer project for Snoop since Doggystyle, it will be released December 10th on Stones Throw Records, Snoop will adopt the fresh monicker Snoopzilla in homage to Bootys Collins, and Snoop has gone on record saying how influential funk music was in making the decision to go forward with this. If you aren’t intrigued already, give this initial single “Faden Away” a spin and try not to feel groovy.
Update: Features on the 7 Days of Funk record will include Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, and Steve Arrington. You can also hear Snoop and Dam speak on the project in this video from Stones Throw here.
