East Atlanta native Destin Laurel dropped his debut album searching for klarity back on March 8th. This album has no features and is exclusively produced by Destin himself other than Zakah on “condition’”. searching for klarity is easily one of the top underground artist’s albums of the year. Eight tracks build off one another throughout, starting with “high’”, a slower song where Laurel sings of his internal problems, “all the times” he “bailed”, asking “what’s the pros if I fail”. He is determined to touch new heights and will not stop until he’s there.
Destin dropped “fall”, his first featureless single since the album. Destin Laurel talks about making all the right moves, “swerving potholes”, and “passing up on dirty women” they “don’t like those”. Saying he “paid attention” so Destin knows all of his “goals”. Then going in to explain those dreams such as “stretch limousines… room for my team, bags on my feet, room for my queen” and much more. Not many artists can make a song from scratch, write and produce the entire song, and make it sound this good time and time again.
