Like please God let me find one these tunnels one day. I swear I’ll turn in all the pot. Anyways, this past week, the Feds announced that they have found one of the largest drug-smuggling tunnels known to man.
The tunnel ran from San Diego and Tijuana and measured roughly 900 yards in length, equipped with lighting, electricity, running way and rail system, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego. According to the report, over 10 tons of marijuana was found near the Tijuana end of the tunnel, with about 2 tons at the San Diego end.
Nice.
The marijuana’s worth is estimated around $6 million, with all twenty-two suspects arrested on both sides of the border.
“Federal agents on the San Diego Tunnel Task Force have once again taken down a sophisticated cross border drug smuggling tunnel that was fully operational under the San Diego-Tijuana border,” said Dave Shaw, special agent in charge for ICE Homeland Security Investigations in San Diego. “The success of this investigation is yet another example of our commitment to secure the border while combating the increasingly dangerous underground smuggling activity.”
And this will continue to happen until we legalize weed. Just saying…
