Go Away by Omar Apollo

Omar Apollo returns after dropping one of my favorite albums of 2020 with the single, “Go Away”. This record is upbeat and discusses wanting the attention of someone who you don’t see often. The lyricism is personal, and the singing is intimate, establishing Apollo as one of my favorite singers at the moment. I suggest you all check this out.

Romeo by Jungle (FT Bas)

Romeo” feels more so like a Bas record than a Jungle record. Jungle handles the production and hooks on the track giving it their trademark funky/psychedelic sound, but Bas gives us some hard-hitting verses. This is a combination I wouldn’t have expected but works exceptionally well with one another. This is a 10 out of 10!

NEON PEACH by Snoh Aalegra (FT Tyler, The Creator)

Snoh Aalegra just dropped a project, and it’s magical; however, my favorite record on the LP is “NEON PEACH”. Snoh’s rich vocals sing about the struggles of a tumultuous relationship and are complemented by not just one but TWO Tyler, The Creator verses. It’s a standout record and has a great bounce to it.

Onto Me by Tkay Maidza (FT UMI)

Tkay Maidza is a name you have heard about. An R&B singer that has been bringing her pop sensibilities to her music. “Onto Me” has one of the craziest hooks I’ve heard in a minute; the “Inhale, Exhale” gets me after time. Also, the UMI feature is a match made in heaven and is an excellent addition to the record. I want to hear more collaborations between these stars in the making.

Impalas & Air Force 1s by Mariah, The Scientist

This being the intro track to her project is an understatement on how good the whole record is. Mariah, The Scientist, made a statement with “Impalas & Air Force 1s”; this a more a ballad with no drums, just vibes. You get some descriptive lyrics about someone that she cares about but can’t be the one that runs their mind. The guitar solo to end out the track is also fantastic.

running me around by Jony Shelby

Jony Shelby has a hit on his hands with “running me around”. This is a longing modern R&B jam that has a great lyricism and an excellent delivery. I’ll be expecting this record to blow up over the next couple of weeks!
