Paris Texas is back with a visual for the books. “Girls Like Drugs” is a guitar riff-centric hip-hop banger that pushes genre-bending style to higher heights. What gets me extremely excited about this duo is the care for visuals, and this one is out of this world. The music video takes place in their love interests closet with shots of them in a ting stage set up to break it up. The imagery is creative, and the idea of the video is unique.
Besito by Bia (Ft. G Herbo)
“Besito” is a record that will grow in Bia’s catalog and become a fan favorite. On the record, we get her trademark flow and sexy delivery. The hard-hitting beat makes this the perfect song to ring off in any club. G Herbo adds a nice dynamic switch up to the music. I suggest you give this one a listen.
Death Wish by ROLE MODEL
ROLE MODEL has been an artist that’s had my attention for a while now. So when I get a new record from him, I’m always excited to see what was bringing to the table. This one is a banger. I love the use of these poppy harmonies, but he then gives us some sophisticated flows. ROLE MODEL has some better flows than your favorite rapper on this record. This is an excellent record through and through.
Bloody Mary by Isaac Zale
If you’ve been looking for an uptempo hip-hop banger, then “Bloody Mary” by Isaac Zale is the record for you. It’s clean and catchy with the haunting bars about getting money and living the lavish lifestyle of a hip-hop icon. This record would fit perfectly on the Varsity Bars Spotify playlist, and I expected it to be there soon.
Big Energy by Latto
“Big Energy” by Latto is an excellent combination of 90s hip-hop and modern pop-rap. On the record, Latto talks about how her dude has to have big dick energy. The tongue-in-cheek lyrics make for a somewhat comical listen, and the music video plays on those elements. The record’s production is jerky but in the best way possible and is easily my favorite part of the song.
Steady Lit by Yung Mono
Atlanta’s Yung Mono has been growing for the past couple of years. Recently, opening up for 22gz, his momentum seems only to grow. “Steady Lit” is a record that I had thought I had covered a while back. I wanted to bring this record back in the zeitgeist of music blogging because it’s an absolute slapper. With the trap production and Mono’s witty wordplay, you get lost in the song. He’s the next out of ATL; get hip before you’re late!
