We hope you’re ready to get funky this winter, because Mick Jenkins always brings a soulful spin with his new raps. Ahead of his upcoming project Pieces Of A Man, the Chicago standout released two tracks back to back “Barcelona” and “Padded Locks.” “Barcelona” brings a slower vibe that Jenkins uses to mix his poetic lyricism with the soft instrumental for a dope track that will be the fifth track on his seventeen track album.
“Padded Locks” turns up the pace a bit and starts off with a beat that brings your attention to the rise and fall before Jenkins comes in at the perfect time with a hard hitting emphasis filled verse filled with the perfect rhythm that treats the beat like a wave, complimenting his voice perfectly and sliding over his almost minute and a half stanza. After Jenkins finishes the hook, Ghostface Killah delivers an iconic verse that bounces off Jenkins flow with a great aggressive feel to make for a great track overall. Check these tracks out below and make sure the listen to the upcoming tape, releasing on October 26th!
