Back in 2014, iLoveMakonnen dropped “Tuesday”, a song that would define many of this generation’s childhoods. The track would go on to be remixed by none other than Drake and Makonnen was soon signed to Drake‘s OVO Sound label.
However, after years of label drama and Makonnen’s discontentment with the industry, the Los Angeles native decided to take a break from music. Now, after a brief hiatus and five years without a full length project, Makonnen is back with My Parade.
The 13-track effort has all of the colorful, off-the-wall energy that we love about Makonnen. My personal favorites are “My Hustle Don’t Stop”, “My Parade” and “Bad Bitch With A Stutter”. Check it out.
