Mavi is gearing up for a busy October. The Charlotte-based artist has released his latest single, “Doves.” This release is the follow-up to the announcement of his long-awaited sophomore album Laughing So Hard It Hurts (Out 10/14) and the lead single “Baking Soda.” The lead-up to this release has been highly-anticipated following Mavi’s 2019 debut album, Let The Sun Talk.
“Doves” is produced by multi-instrumentalist Dylvinci. It is a downtempo, silky smooth song that combines Mavi‘s lullaby-soft wordplay and adaptable MC skills with springy synths, an ethereal composition, and radiant sample skills. Dylvinci is the man in charge of the “plug” sub-genre. “Doves” is a thematic track, and it gives Mavi’s fanbase a sneak peek of what to expect from the rest of the album.
