Rising Denver-based musician Doze has blessed our pages before, but his recent cut “Leaves” might be our favorite release yet. The song, which was self-produced by Doze himself, is about growth and ambition. When I asked him about the creative process, this is what Doze had to say:
“Leaves” is a song about growth; how I’ve been searching in the wrong places for answers I might not even need. It’s as if each day I’ve climbed higher up into a tree and as a result have only gotten my head farther into the clouds. Up here I can create music endlessly and credit card bills don’t need to get paid – so I see no reason to come down anytime soon.”
And the visual matches just that —peace and serenity.
With the terrible 2020 almost in our past, Doze looks to capitalize on the newfound momentum with a slew of releases to close out the fourth quarter, further pushing the narrative that he can create his own noise within his own space. Doze is a special artist, and will further prove that notion with each new release. Get in tune with Doze and check out his latest visual here on his website.
