Phil is really one of my favorite rappers right now. Mooky, Perks, Phil, and a handful of others are all pushing the boundaries of modern music, changing the common cadence as a whole. This collection of nine songs were all handled by the genius Evil Giane and let’s be real, Giane has had an electric 2021 thus far. So combining the talents of these rising creatives congregates into a pristine treat for the fans.
“Next Move” starts things off in an infectious manner and from there it’s not a single skip. “D Wade” is an unreal bounce between the aerated synths and vocal chops. The spacing sets the scene for Phil and allows for him to illustrate his sermons. “Light Up” showcases the darker sides of his styling. “What’s The Word” and “Madden” are both added to the list as yet another mind-blowing sample perfectly chopped. We could talk about this wave all day and hopefully, it’s the first of many installments in the series. Phil is one of the best, don’t sleep on some of the most gloriously unique sounds right now.
