Chicago area singer Serena The Kid just dropped off two wavy, beautiful, yet intense singles in “Lotus” and “Apple Of My Eye.” “Lotus” was produced by K Rain, and “Apple Of My Eye” by Biv. These two tracks set a very specific tone for what Serena’s sound is going to be like, which I can get down with. These two tracks go a lot harder than many songs that get submitted to us, and they are also put together very well. She has the vocal range and control, which a lot of people who go for the type of sound that we’re hearing fall short of because they’re missing one or both of those skills.
