Chicago’s own SG Ali has been grinding for a minute with countless music videos over the past years. Consistently dropping quality record after quality record, it’s apparent that she has the potential to be a standout figure in the current hip-hop landscape. With “Drank On The Block” this potential is capitalized, and Ali has a hit on her hands.

SephGotTheWaves production sets the mood with a slick guitar riff and a feverous hi-hat pattern, which Invoked Ali to rap about her upbringing and come up melodically. As she sees her life-changing for the better, there seems to be a struggle with “kicking the cup”. On the hook, Ali exclaims, “My life just changing can’t lie feel kinda strange, No amount of money ain’t gone heal all this pain. I said I gave up, but I’m still sipping drank.”. This sentiment continues through the verses of the record.

The accompanying music video directed by A Savage Film shows Ali on her block with her team. A fitting location for this track and helps the viewer visualize where she comes from. It also demonstrates that no matter what success comes Ali‘s way, she would never switch up on her hood. You can tell Ali is nothing but authentic, and I’m excited to see what success this track brings her. This record and video will be one to remember; make sure you check out this gas below!
