The UK artist has been making waves over the past several years beginning in 2019 with the release of his 2019 EP “After God Fear Eve,” and he’s continued to rack up streams and views in the intervening period, culminating with a partnership with Cinematic Music Group. “i don’t need u” is another artistic leap forward, his glitchy and ethereal sound has been refined, and he takes cues from XXXTENTACION by interpolating his work into the track’s samples. The self-directed visual perfectly matches the vibe of the song – a clear DIY ethos runs through all of his work.
