If you haven’t yet fallen in love with our Undiscovered Gems series, it’s safe to assume you haven’t read all of them. Today we’re back with another one! This group of artists has grabbed our attention, and are all special in their own right. We bet that you’re unfamiliar with most of them, if not all. Hopefully, after reading, you can add a few new artists to your listening queue and dive deeper into their creations.

    YEAT

First up this week is YEAT. The Portland native has been on a steady incline lately and has made statements with who he’s worked with thus far. Melodies seem to come easy to him, he just skates on every track. With that ability and a series of deliberate collab choices, it’s clear that he’s got everything it takes to blow up. Along with a keen sense of who to tap in with, he also seems wise for picking the right administrative roles around him. With Victor Victor‘s Lil Nextel and prominent Atlanta engineer JRich Ent as his management team, YEAT‘s vision for success seems to be in very good hands. YEAT‘s style adds an optimistic vibe on top of some masterfully-produced, dark trap beats which turn into something special. His latest release on DSP’s was his album, I’m So Me, and it is something to behold. Once you press play, you’re bound to love it all the way through. There are features from many familiar artists and producers like Summrs, SoIcyJordan, 10Fifty, and more! Take a listen below, and get hip to YEAT before everybody else does.

    A1beam

With a long list of successful placements as a producer, A1beam is ready for the next phase of his career. He’s produced for artists like Roddy RicchLil Baby, Q Da Fool, and YSN Flow. He actually produced YSN Flow‘s breakout hit, “Want Beef”, and that is just a slight indication of the mark he’s made in the industry so far. Being that he’s from Baltimore, you’ll hear hints of his native accent amidst the fire melodic and rhythmic elements in his music. Although A1beam makes it seem easy, most producers have a much more difficult time transitioning from producing to recording. He’s dropped a lot of music, but all of the work is a proper indication of his ability. He’s gradually ascended in views and streams, but there’s still more room to grow. You gotta love watching when a talented artist begins to show the world the full scope of their ability. A1beam has planted seeds all around the Hip-Hop scene and now has embarked on a different journey within. Take a deeper look at this fire talent out of Baltimore, and get familiar with A1beam and peep the video for one of his best tracks, “WALK”.

    JAHMED

Another name that keeps popping up is JAHMED. For starting to release music in 2020, over a hundred thousand monthly listeners on Spotify is pretty impressive. Although these are solid numbers, you’ll forget about them the moment you begin to listen to JAHMED‘s music. His sound is encapsulating, it’s like a bubble of raw energy and Hip-Hop style that forces you to forget everything around you. He’s only released three tracks thus far, each one is ear-catching, energetic, and unique. In addition, his visuals match the caliber of his music and that really is saying a lot. The only way for you to understand is to check him out for yourself. You can thank me later, but here’s a link to his latest video that dropped last week, it’s called “Jeep”.

    Ca$h Baby $lime

Our next artist is previously known as GUCCI $ANTANA, and currently goes by Ca$h Baby $lime. We’ve consistently covered this young-gun out of Florida, yet still many are sleeping on his talent and ability to flourish as an artist. His track “Taliban” is doing numbers on DSP’s, with over six-figures on Spotify. Don’t be obsessed with numbers and the algorithms of these DSP’s, I can assure you that all of the music from this young talent is worth listening to. The ascension of a successful rap star is taken one step at a time, a process which we’ll be watching every step of the way for Ca$h Baby $lime. You should be just as aware of the moves he makes. By now, everybody is familiar with the explosive energy out of Florida. This widely understood quality of the state has bred competition, forcing artists like Ca$h Baby $lime to push the limit even further. If you aren’t already familiar, now’s a great time. Check out one of my favorites from the St. Petersburg native below.

    H20Hadd

Philadelphia is home to many notable up-and-comers, but few compare to the ability of H20Hadd. He’s only dropped one track so far but has garnered millions and millions of streams worldwide. “Back Then” has proven to be an amazing initial statement, allowing him to align himself with a wide range of listeners who can’t resist his melodic ability. After my first time listening to this banger, I found the melody and lyrics ingrained in my head for weeks to come. I’m clearly not alone in this, as millions of others have reciprocated the same sentiment for the slight glimpse of H20Hadd‘s catalog that we’ve been blessed with. With countless streams and a Zane Lowe premiere under his belt already, it’s obvious that the road ahead is gonna be even more of a blessing for one of Philly’s best. Take a listen below to H20Hadd‘s only drop so far: “Back Then”. The video is already at almost 150k views on YouTube.

    Baby Plug

Recently, Yung Icey dropped a collaborative EP with upcoming Atlanta talent Baby Plug, and it helped to boost his exposure in many ways. Along with many others, I became familiar with this promising act and had to get hip to his earlier shit. I found myself content with virtually everything Baby Plug‘s decided to drop thus far. His visuals are up to par with his raw sound, and the combination is bound to leave his audience asking questions. This phenomenon is like a trail of crumbs being left behind an artist, many listeners will pick up all the pieces behind him and grow an attachment for his brand as a whole. Baby Plug‘s sound is polished, yet still boasts hunger and grit. If you take a look at his numbers on any platform, you might start to understand his promise a bit more. The real ones know, without any stats attached, that Baby Plug is somebody special in the rap game. Take a listen for yourself, below is the link to his project with one of the South’s best producers, Yung Icey, titled Icey Baby.
