Up and coming West LA artist, Ajna, recently dropped his second single of the year “Protect Me.” The unique production immediately grabs your attention with the heavy hitting boom-bap drums paired with the melodic piano, all produced by Ajna himself. This production style is where Ajna really gets to showcase his lyrical ability, and that definitely shined through on this track.
Ajna’s conversation-like yet passionate inflection across the whole song makes for a very personal delivery and enjoyable listen. “Protect Me” stands out all across the board, and I could really say that for all of Ajna’s discography, branching out into many different sounds and production styles.
