Welcome to our first “Undiscovered Gems: Producers” post of 2020! As we’re starting the year off, there are plenty of producers who are on the verge of major success, and we’ve made a habit of highlighting them over the past few months. Come take a look at some of the ear-catching talent, and read up on their background!
10Fifty
We’re starting off the year with somebody who’s done a lot during his time at Daily Chiefers. Out of LA is up-and-coming production star 10Fifty. After going crazy in 2019, producing tracks for Lil Gotit, Lil Keed, Soulja Boy, Comethazine, YS, NGeeYL and Ronsocold (along with many other notable names), 10Fifty is headed into 2020 going full speed. This past year, his music with Lil Gotit garnered reactions on social media from big names like Lil Uzi Vert, Swae Lee, and Ian Connor, just to name a few. Some of 10Fifty‘s biggest hits so far include “Superstar (feat. Gunna)” by Lil Gotit, “Wine and Dine” by Comethazine, and “Brotherly Love (feat. Lil Keed) by Lil Gotit. All the while, he produced most of the buzzing up-and-comer Showtime Jay‘s freshman album, “Cruise Control”. This project is a great display of 10Fifty‘s ability and is an amazing introduction to one of 10Fifty‘s close affiliates, Showtime Jay. See what the hype is about down below.
AR
One of my favorite producers hails from Long Island, New York but has made Harlem his second home. He goes by the name AR, and he’s no stranger to the Daily Chiefers‘ pages. In 2019, AR was constantly working to continue making a name for himself in the music scene, which proved to be successful as he collaborated with some of the best artists and producers in the country. His Marino Infantry affiliation served as a phenomenal foundation for the young producer, and he’s snapped on songs that he’s made with A$AP Ant and the rest of the group. Some of my favorite artists/producers that he’s worked with include A$AP Rocky, Lucki, 645AR, Lunchbox, Full Tac, Andy, 10Fifty, Benji Blue, Z Money, and Ola Runt. Pay close attention to one of the best producers in the game, and check out one of my favorite tracks produced by AR (and Andy) below.
808Melo
Another producer who is about to come up on a major level is 808Melo. The Victor Victor signee has been snapping for a minute now, and it’s about time we spotlighted him for his wave. The young star out of East London has recently made a name for himself with his work for Pop Smoke, Travis Scott, Lil TJay, Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, and Headie One. 808Melo has made it clear that making hits is a regular for him. Some notable tracks include “GATTI”, produced with AXL Beats for Pop Smoke and Travis Scott on “Jackboys” along with “Meet The Woo” and “Welcome to The Party” by Pop Smoke. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this musically gifted young-gun. Check out his work below, his first #1 on the charts.
Benjay
Recently, we covered a single from WAV called “Never Around”, and the producer behind the impressive song is French-native Benjay. He has made waves this past year going 10x platinum, primarily working on tracks that were making a huge impact in Europe. His manager, Giuseppe Zappala, is the perfect person to help integrate Benjay‘s notable skill into the US Market. Giuseppe also manages Lil Tecca, WAV and Eryn Martin, just to shed some light on his administrative ability and success. One of Benjay‘s most notable works is a track he made with fellow producer RDS for Friyie and Roddy Ricch, called “Hop In”. Come check it out below, and stay tuned to the future star this year!
Kaz The God
Out of New York City is super-producer and The Money Team affiliate Kaz The God. On Instagram, Kaz showed off his time spent in the studio with several huge players in the Hip-Hop scene, including A$AP Ferg, Nipsey Hussle, and Sonny Digital. In addition, the promising music-maker has collaborated with the likes of Don Q, PnB Rock, and Mozzy. It seems to be that Kaz has support from Floyd Mayweather and his company, The Money Team, as he’s made several posts highlighting his time spent with Floyd and his associates. He even has a video of NFL free agent, Dez Bryant shouting him out at the club. Kaz has left me with a lot of questions, as he’s done with the rest of his following. Some of the most promising acts tend to leave behind a trail of crumbs pointing to their bright future in the industry, and I definitely believe Kaz is one of them. Check out his track with Mozzy and Don Q, “Ain’t No Tellin'”, and keep an eye out for this future production star in 2020.
