Houston native WAV has been on an absolute tear lately, finishing 2019 off in Europe with Lil Tecca and Pi’erre Bourne after a successful tour run in North America. Following that positive ending of the year, WAV came into 2020 prepared with some heat.
WAV started off the year with a collaborative single, “3 strikes”, featuring D Savage and Ronsocold, and continued his momentous start with two additional singles, “Never Around” and “Gone”. Today he’s back again on our pages with his newly-dropped single, “XO”. The Based1-produced banger got loads of positive feedback as soon as WAV teased a snippet on Instagram. WAV and Based1 have proven to be a perfect fit for each other’s sound. We can only hope to get more collaborations from the two of them- their cumulative energy is a winning formula for a hit. It seems like WAV has gradually stepped his game up, both lyrically and rhythmically, hinting at a similar positive progression going forward. The Brooklyn-born rapper is approaching the long road to success just one step at a time, and it seems every step is in the right direction.
