Yasiin Bey has officially issued a rap battle challenge pitting himself, Black Thought, & King Los vs. anyone who wants to compete — no beef, just a battle.
“Tired of these dudes, pretending like they dope… You alright, but relax.. The dope ni**as that think they dope, you ain’t as dope as you think.. You COOL, but.. you ain’t that deal.. and we don’t have to make no back and forth corny records about it.. We can put it on its feet, for the world to see..”
Yasiin goes on to mention donating proceeds to charity for the probable event, but stands firm in his assertion that no one can handle Thought, Los, & himself as a trio.
BUT… as of now, one rapper has accepted, and his name is Lupe Fiasco.. If Bey’s challenge stands as is, maybe Lu will join two other emcees & Hip-Hop will be gifted an actual battle between the 6 rappers, adding to the litany of greatness we’ve already been presented with so far in 2015.. stay tuned.
