Guard Your Joy

I learn with each passing day that people aren’t going to get excited about your joy. Sure, that would be nice to see others happy about your accomplishments, but that’s asking a lot of human beings. I say that with a rich dose of sarcasm, but the lack of support or congrats cannot bring you down. Your joy needs to be guarded with your life. Meaning that if you don’t protect the things that make you happy, the world will snatch them away or distract you from enjoying the moment. Anyways, the music below helps me do that a little bit more, get hip below.

Kenarri And MuddyMya – Heart Strings

Kenarri and MuddyMya are two rising stars making serious noise anytime they drop. This time it’s for the brilliant collaboration “Heart Strings”.

In a perfect world, the people we have love for would never hurt us, but in reality, our loyalty isn’t always reciprocated. I made this song to remind myself the importance of remaining lighthearted in the face of betrayal and failed expectations.”

This powerful message in the form of a heater always helps the people love it a bit more. But both Kenarri and Mya float effortlessly atop this production allowing us to get a bit more familiar with the Dragon Queen. These women are already making noise and will be the face of Atlanta for years to come. And a reminder to those who are sleeping on them, these two aren’t stopping anytime soon.

Valid And Stretch Money – Bill & Isiah

Valid and Stretch Money are back on our pages with their collection of work called Bill & Isiah. This ode to some of the great Pistons of yesteryear focuses on showcasing shining examples of the pristine cadence that covers the instrumentation. These eleven cuts are nothing like what the rest of the city is offering right now, instead it basks in the glory of wondrous samples and an attitude that doesn’t quit. “So Divine” is the favorite of the bunch, but there is not a cut that lags behind the rest. Peep all of the gas above.

Bachyard Ghost – new year, same me

Bachyard Ghost is an artist who can do just about anything genre wise, it’s just a matter of which direction he wants to go in. “new year, same me” is a hilarious title, but this cut possesses a rich transfusion of energy. This freeing melodic approach melds with the guitar riffs and showcases why this young man is meant to be in the conversation. Instead of following trends or trying to put on a front for something he’s not, Ghost is just that to the nonsense. This cut doesn’t have a ceiling along with the other music in his catalog. The smokiness of his tone, the attitude of the song, it all comes together for brilliant cohesion. Tap into it all above.

Alfeso And Ole Holter – Level Up

Alfeso and Ole Holter weren’t on my radar, but after a good friend sent this one over, they are now. Not to say that’s all it takes, because I get sent a lot of bullshit. But this also means that the great songs will always bleed through. “Level Up” is a futuristic wave that showcases stellar vocal runs and a memorable instrumental of the Pluggnb variety. Music like this feels great and translates to those who an ear who’s searching for the next thing. This one is crazy peep it all above.
