It’s official, 2022 is the Year of the Ox. That’s, at least, according to none other than Matt Ox, whose album of the same name dropped last week. Matt needs no introduction around these parts – we’ve been fucking with him since the very start and that’ll continue, since out seems impossible for him to release something that’s not straight fire.

This record is filled to the gills with highlights, but one that immediately grabbed our attention is “It Ain’t No Time,” the album’s closing track. This shit is classic OX – the flows are as fire and inventive as anything he’s done since “Overwhelming,” and the druggy production by 808 Mafia member and Juice WRLD collaborator PURPS shows that OX still has some of the best ears for beats in the game.

We’ve come a long way since Ox blew up in 2017 with “Overwhelming,” but he only seems to get better with each passing year. He’s 17 years old now, and with this kind of track record we’re only predicting more prosperity ahead. I’ll say it now: Year Of The Ox is poised to be one of the year’s best records. Check back in December – we don’t eat our words around here. Stream the song below, and the rest of Year Of The Ox by Matt OX down below on YouTube.
