$not has been having a crazy 2021 with “Whipski” and “Tell EM” being some of the year’s most memorable songs. However, both of these being collaborations, I was interested to hear a solo record from him. “Red” is precisely that, and I think it might be one of my favorite records by him. On the song, $not gives us a melodic flow in his distinct delivery, and it feels as if he’s bouncing all over the instrumental.
TroyOnTheBeat handles the production on the records, and it’s bouncy as fuck. The bass is my favorite part of the beat, and I think it helps give $not‘s flow more bite. I hope that song gets a video soon because I’ll be bumping this for a minute!
